So Tunstall will certainly have an experienced squad of players in 2007, for this season yielded quite many seasoned ladies as well. As the Trojans were able to have 4 of its girls on the All-District teams:Brandie G, Kristen W, Rachel E, and goalkeeper Hannah B. These Lady Trojans were recognized for their competitive spirit and soccer ability on the playing field. Ofcourse all 14 girls were true atheletes and great sports throughout the entire season. Congratulations on an outstanding season of magnificent soccer!!!!! Everyone should already be looking forward to rec. season this fall and weekly conditioning days this winter.<br /><br />As for this blog and all its posts-it shall remain on the internet as long as technologically possible- to be an archival reference and memory of the 2006 Tunstall Soccer Season, a great three months of sport, character, loyalty, and friendship. See all you Trojans next March!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114883825185045784?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24223074.post-1148837453437285842006-05-28T10:12:00.000-07:002006-05-28T10:30:53.446-07:00Tunstall Will Rise Again...in 2007The Trojans had a hard Monday at Bassett stadium. The Ladies lost their first tournament match with a score of 0-5, and the Bengals leaving victorious. <br /><br />A few "off the field" tradgedies and perhaps some nervous and disheartened Trojans were the cause of this post-season loss. No matter what the cause of Tunstall losing the game, the effect was the same for all the Trojans; a lost and empty look, a depressing feeling-everyone knowing that the Tunstall Trojans Lady Soccer Team would never contain the same 14 girls again and that this loss to Bassett would be the last game played in 2006. But hopefully, even though it was the last game, that match will not be the girls' most vivid memory of the season, because every Tunstall team member has experienced much more fantastic games and plays, practices and disscusions. These Trojan women have set new team records-defeating DanRiver and Bassett for the first time in the history of Tunstall soccer, but certainly not the last. Girls that had never scored before or given an assist to a goal, were able to give Tunstall a spot on the scoreboard. So when these Ladies go home and enjoy their summers, when all 12 girls return to Tunstall in the fall, everyone of them can be proud to be called a Trojan Soccer player.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114883745343728584?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24223074.post-1148259724761345122006-05-21T17:54:00.000-07:002006-05-21T18:02:04.776-07:00The Game Has ComeThe game has come, it has come with a fore warning and I feel the Trojans are ready...ready to face what shall, so far, be the most important 80 minutes of the entire season. The Lady Trojans will face Bassett at Bassett tommorrow night at7:oo and I hope and I pray that Tunstall will play to its fullest potential and defeat the Bengals to advance to the semifinals!! <br /><br />Bassett has a strong attack, but I truly believe Tunstall has an even stronger defense and so tommorrow nitght's match will, in my eyes, be solely dependent on one question....which team has the better midfield?<br />+*TUNSTALL*+... of course!!!<br /><br />ROCK'M ALL NIGHT LONG TROJANS!!!!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114825972476134512?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24223074.post-1147903207686527682006-05-17T14:46:00.000-07:002006-05-17T15:00:07.720-07:00Late BreakExcuse my slow reaction on the Magna Vista match from last Friday. The Trojans were sitt'n pretty during the first half with 11 girls, a full field, however because of a few plays with no one talking the Trojans were down by two at halftime. And Tunstall lost one of its ladies to a dance recital, so during the second half the Trojans were again playing with only 10 girls to Magna Vista's 11. But Tunstall was able to score one from Brittany W. And Haley D. moved into the center midfield, where she excelled greatly. But Magna Vista scored one last goal off of their midfield player, who was MV's keeper during the first half. <br /><br />Final score was 3-1, but Tunstall applauded themselves for a great effort, with only 10 in the second half and absolutely no substitutes the entire game. This week the Trojans are off and working hard to improve their endurance, speed, and certainly better their soccer skills. Next week on the night of Monday May 22, 2006 Tunstall will be playing at Bassett stadium against, so far an unknown opponent, but will be playing with a full team of 11 with two fresh substitutes. So watch out cuz this is a tournament match and ain't no Trojan gonna hold anything back!!!!!!<br /><br />$$BIG REDZ IN DA HOUSE!!!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114790320768652768?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24223074.post-1147384848305745752006-05-11T14:42:00.000-07:002006-05-11T15:00:48.316-07:00To All Great Reigns There Must Be An End......And Tunstall, although the Ladies definitely have the potential, hasn't yet reached greatness, so their spirit and soccer prowess will live to walk another pitch. But this Friday will mark the end of the Trojan's 2006 regular season and fittingly the game will be played at home and the senior girls will be honored for their years of Tunstall soccer that they have given to us all. Un-fittingly, however, the Trojans will be matching up with the Warriors from Magna Vista to end the season and again, tho I hate having to mention this, Tunstall will only be playing with 10 people; if all goes well that is... <br /><br />But as always the Trojans will be out for a win and will settle for nothing less, except maybe a couple of yellow cards... Everyone should keep a close lookout, there may be some victory drum beats sounding from the Tunstall coliseum tommorrow night!!!<br /><br />"It was an impossible maneuver, but Chewbacca responded immediately and once again accomplished the impossible." The game ended with a score of 6-0 Martinsville, but over all the Ladies kept a good morale and are still hopeful towards the upcoming match versus Magna Vista. That game will end Tunstall's regular season and the Trojans will be taking a week off to practice and prepare for the District Tournament, which all 13 Trojans will be attending!!! So Tunstall will certainly be adding more spice to their games!!!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114722792175318891?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24223074.post-1147023621702875682006-05-07T10:31:00.000-07:002006-05-07T10:40:21.703-07:00Martinsville MahemTwo heads are better than one and 22 feet are better than twenty, but Tunstall knows the feeling of playing with only 10 girls and, although it isn't a good one, the Trojans never back down from a fight, even when greatly out numbered. This Tuesday night at Martinsville field at 5:30 pm, Tunstall will again meet the Bulldogs and try with all their "10 person strength" to silence their bark! No one knows what could happen; a surprise cornerkick, an unmarked direct kick, even a foul inside the Bulldogs penalty box; you should never under estimate the Trojans. Because there are no Greek horses in this district!!!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114702362170287568?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24223074.post-1147023059995271662006-05-07T10:02:00.000-07:002006-05-07T10:31:00.013-07:00Bengals and Wildcats and Cougars, O My!It has been a while since my last posting of our soccer season and for that I am very sorry, but the Trojan ladys have been facing several soccer "emergencies" over the past week. The first beginning with our second match vs. Bassett last Friday(4/28), the Trojans were faced with the daunting task of playing the Bengals with only 10 girls versus their 11(and several substitutes), because Brandie had suffered a knee injury and two other Trojans were on school trips, while a fourth was sick. The game resulted in a 4-0 loss to Bassett and heart-broken Tunstall team.<br /><br />The next Tuesday(5/2) was a much brighter day for the Trojans, as only two teammembers were missing Kyana, who was still on her school trip to Texas and Brandie, Tunstall's senior captain who was still dealing with a bad knee injury from a week ago. The Trojans were facing DanRiver and made a fantasic second showing, beating the Wildcats 2-0, with goals from senior Valerie H. and sophmore Melanie B. It was an game that lifted all the Trojan's spirits and that was very welcomed, for the Trojans would need that uplifting in order to face their next turn.<br /><br />Another Friday match against Patrick County, who Tunstall tied 0-0 over spring break, was scheduled. But instead of a before game Thursday practice the Trojans were pushed into an unseen and unprepared match against the Cougars, because of miscommunication the two teams met @ Patrick County Thursday(5/4) with out Brandie, who will now be off the Trojan roster for the season, and fellow captain Kristen W. the Trojans also had to face the Cougars without their Coach Parrish. And even with a great show of effort and determination in the first half, Tunstall left with a loss of 2-0 to PC.<br /><br />The Trojans certainly understand that everyone must take the good with the bad, and the Ladys are working hard to not get as much of the latter. But this upcoming week will be another test of fortitude and bravery as the Trojans will again be playing their next two matches with only a ten woman roster. Brandie will be out in support of the Trojans but isn't able to take the field and three other Trojans including: Kristen W., Katie K., and Emily I., will be off the pitch due to dance recitals. So wish the mighty Trojans good and large quantities of luck, the Ladys will certainly be needing it.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114702305999527166?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24223074.post-1146089611896823132006-04-26T15:00:00.000-07:002006-04-26T15:13:31.906-07:00Boom Boom Shue, Boom Boom Shue, Boom Boom Shue, Boom Boom Shue, We Will, We Will ROCK YOU!!Friday...the proving ground...to prove this season is no fluke...to prove Tunstall is a soccer force to be reckoned with...to prove these Trojan Ladys are true, dedicated athletes!! Tunstall will begin its double-district play, with the BASSETT BENGALS @ Bassett stadium on Friday (4/28) @ 5:30. When the two teams last met the score was Tunstall-2 & Bassett-1, all three of which were scored in the first half. But Tunstall's goals were both scored by senior captain BrandieG, who obtained a knee injury during the Magna Vista game and will be out of play for one week. So the Trojans will need some younger forwards to step-up and truly shine during this Bassett encounter! <br /><br />This game will be intense for the Trojans and certainly the whole district will be hopelessly awaiting to hear how the game turned out. But everyone should attend and view this Clash of the Titans for themselves!!!!!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114608961189682313?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24223074.post-1146088812696210322006-04-26T14:36:00.000-07:002006-04-26T15:00:12.710-07:00Magna Vista MistakeThe Lady Trojans faced Magna Vista this Tuesday (4/26) and I mistakenly did not post anything about this game, which I am very sorry for.<br /><br /> So, Tunstall faced Magna Vista, the defending district champs from 2006, and the Trojans lost 0-3. All three goals were scored in the first half of the game. Goals one and two were scored on attacking runs down field and the third, and last of the night, was scored on a direct kick; all three shots were put in the goal by one of Magna Vista's captains, gaining a hat-trick. Tunstall's defense worked well in the second half by not allowing any more goals and the offense controlled the ball for almost the entire second half. The Trojan attackers were persistant and moving the ball around very well, but simply weren't able to capitalize on any opportunities. So, the Trojans now have a district record of 2-2-1, but Tunstall has now faced every district opponent and will now have the opportunity to improve on their last performance, which the Trojans will gladly oblige to doing!!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114608881269621032?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24223074.post-1145546477089355202006-04-20T07:58:00.000-07:002006-04-21T13:44:36.456-07:00The Dog Is Still LooseMartinsville narrowly, NARROWLY, escaped Tunstall last night with a score of 2-0. The game began with the Trojans kicking off and for, at least, the first twenty minutes they were able to keep the ball near the Bulldogs goal. However, on a quick run up field Martinsville was somehow capable of getting a low shot into Tunstall's goal. And that was the only scoring action that took place during the beginning 40 minutes. During halftime the Trojans considered their actions and ways to improve in the next half. <br /><br />And with Martinsville starting the kickoff, the next 40 began toward Tunstall's goal. Once more, midway into the second half, the Bulldogs were able to get the ball deep on the right side of the Trojan goal and pass into the center field, where the ball was met by another Martinsville player to make the score 2-0. After this play the Trojans continued to work up several attacking runs, but Tunstall just wasn't able to time their shots well last night. And the Bulldogs left with another victory over the Trojans, however, one with a VERY small margin! <br /><br />These two teams will meet once more in season play on Tuesday, May 9 and you can certainly bet on an even better show of aggression, attacks, emotion, and most definitely more Tunstall goals!!!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114554647708935520?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24223074.post-1145468683491724412006-04-19T10:17:00.000-07:002006-04-20T07:56:54.906-07:00Bulldog BrawlToday(4/19) at, duh 5:30, the Trojans will match up with the Martinsville Bulldogs for the last game of springbreak week. Martinsville is considered, by most, to always have the best soccer team in the district and have several district titles from years past. So they have experience in tough and pressured situations, however, there's talk that the Bulldogs don't have the talent or experience they are notoriously known for. And that's all the amunition this Trojan team needs for its battle with Martinsville today. <br /><br />The girls may be tired from 90 minutes of soccer last night, but most definitely won't pass up any opportunites to crush this district powerhouse!!<br /><br />Come see the Trojans finally put a leash on this Bulldog!!!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114546868349172441?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24223074.post-1145466896671296232006-04-19T09:38:00.000-07:002006-04-19T10:14:58.230-07:002-0-1....There's No Better TitleWell I suppose ties are common in soccer, but I never expected one to come so early in the season. But this proves two things: Tunstall's defense is very capable of holding off attackers and that our midfield needs to open up more goal scoring opportunities, and our forwards must meet those opportunites with well played shots to the net!!! Patrick County, undoubtedly, has a fast offense that Tunstall handled very well! And Tunstall's goal keeper, Hannah B, kept an excellent game, blocking lots of shots and quickly picking up lose balls inside the box. But several times the fans saw more of a tennis match, as the ball would be kicked back and forth between green and white colored jerseys. <br /><br />The game featured the usual two 40 minute halves and included two 5 minute overtime sessions, after a completely scoreless 80 minutes, so Patrick County and Tunstall ended the night 0-0. But be not dismayed at this game's result, for the Trojan Ladies will certainly be attacking with vicious force at their next meeting with the Cougars!!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114546689667129623?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24223074.post-1145325749748778122006-04-17T18:31:00.000-07:002006-04-17T19:02:30.286-07:00From Far Away, In The MountainsIt's springbreak and soccer is in bloom! Tommorrow afternoon at promptly 5:30pm, the Trojans will face their first opponents for the week, the Patrick County Cougars. The last meeting of the two, saw a Patrick County victory of 3-1; but the Trojans played a great game and defended well against the Cougars. After two victories and the Trojan's pre-District matches, Tunstall should be able to show the same, and perhaps better, amount of effort and skill tommorrow night.<br /><br />OFCOURSE the Trojans will play with great effort, enthusiasm, and soccer skill; thatz the kind of game Tunstall always plays!!! If the Cougars expect to even hold up a candle, they better bring their "A" game tommorrow!!<br /><br />One for all & all for the District Title...!!!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114532574974877812?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24223074.post-1145037924715701322006-04-14T10:48:00.000-07:002006-04-14T11:05:24.726-07:00Bassett No Longer Has Any BubbleTuesday(4/11) the Trojans jabbed their spear through the heart of the mighty Bengals from Bassett, and arose victorious from the soccer match, with score of 2-1, Tunstall!! The game started with Bassett kicking off and scoring within the first 10 minutes of the game. But Tunstall soon struck back with its senior and offense captain Brandie G. scoring on goal, with the assist coming from fellow forward Emily I. And before the Bengals could blink, the senior had again scored a magnificent goal, with this assist from midfielder Kristen W. The Trojans had the lead at halftime, but knew the second half would be just as aggresive and fast paced. <br /><br />The Trojans once again were able to keep the ball on the Bengals side of the field and run some more offense attacks at goal. Tunstall's defense also held their ground and didn't allow Bassett to add any goals to the scoreboard. So the night ended with Brandie's two goals conquering the Bengals lone score, and Tunstall rose to 2-0 in the district. <br /><br />This was Tunstall's only game for the week, but be prepared for back to back matches during the Trojan's week of springbreak. Better pull out your sunblock and Tunstall Soccer banners, cuz the heats gonna rise and so is the Trojan's goal count!!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114503792471570132?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24223074.post-1144631497021826212006-04-09T17:52:00.000-07:002006-04-09T18:13:21.546-07:00Bursting The Bengal BubbleTuesday night(4/11) at 5:30pm, Tunstall will host its 2nd district soccer match and, all pistons roaring, its 2nd district win. The Trojans will face the Bengals of Bassett High School and an interesting soccer game will unveil. The last meeting of the two teams, on Trojan soil; resulted in Bassett narrowly escaping the Trojans, with a score of 3-2, in their favor. These Trojan women are coming off an exiciting win against DanRiver last Friday and will be determined to keep up their new winning streak. <br /><br />Most likely, these Bengals won't last long in the Trojan's coliseum and every Tunstall fan should be out in full support of their Mighty Trojans!!!<br /><br /><br />Meow....wwwhipp!!!!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114463149702182621?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24223074.post-1144505173162709822006-04-08T06:24:00.002-07:002006-04-08T07:06:13.163-07:00A Win For The AgesYes!, the Lady Trojan soccer team has finally achieved one of most coveted victories in all of Tunstall's great rivalries. Last night the soccer stage was set, as the Trojans faced the DanRiver Wildcats for an 80 minute theatre.<br /><br /> The first half began with Tunstall kicking off and, afterward, an early goal by the Wildcats. However, the Trojans played excellent defense, by not allowing anymore goals during the half. And Tunstall's offense did very well at keeping the ball in their possesion and staying close to DanRiver's goal.<br /> <br /> After halftime the Trojans began to heat up the field as captain KristenW. scored Tunstall's first, but certainly not last, goal of the night. So, the score was now tied, as Tunstall was beginning to work a very good attack. Later in the half the Trojans were given a cornerkick opportunity and after an interesting scramble near the Wildcat goal, another kick was given. So, as with the first, KatieK. lined up the ball and powered it into a good scoring position. A smaller scramble occured, but then captain BrandieG. was able to pull the Trojans away from a tie, with another Tunstall goal. Again, just as exciting as the first, Kristen gave the Trojans one more goal to move the score up to its final position of the night, 3-1. And minutes later the Trojans celebrated with great enthusiasm as the referee blew the game-ending whistle.<br /><br /> This game will never be forgotten and will certainly be reverberating through the minds and hearts of the Lady Trojans for weeks to come. The score of the other night's match vs. George Washington was 7-1, in favor of G.W. The Eagles quickly started the night scoring their first 4 goals very early in the first half. And later ended the beginning 40 minutes with a 7 point lead. But during halftime, the Trojans were able to rally their inner aggresion and defended very well in the second half. Because of a G.W. hand-ball inside the box, Tunstall's KatieK. was able to score for the Trojans on a penalty kick. On Tunstall's defensive side, right fullback Haley D. was awarded a yellow card for a few small fouls against the Eagles, but quickly returned to playing after having to leave the field. And the trojans were able to defend and guard well, allowing G.W. no room to score in the second half of the night.<br /><br />The Trojans were not dismayed or saddened by this loss, for they played very well and are quite excited about the upcoming District Season.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114437491923111543?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24223074.post-1144108733266913532006-04-03T16:47:00.000-07:002006-04-03T16:58:53.276-07:00Kick Some Balls Wednesday, We WillThis Wednesday at 5:30pm on the Tunstall High School soccer field, the Trojans will once again face their arch rivals...the George Washington Eagles! The score will be differant and so will the Trojans, after a hurting 13-0 loss to Franklin County last Monday; our girls will be out for blood this week!! But no matter how the two teams are feeling that night, the game will certainly be interesting and hold every fan's attention for all 80 minutes.<br /><br />And the Trojans will be playing in all new Adidas uniforms, fresh off the truck from Eurosport. So everyone be sure you stop buy and see the "good-looking" Tunstall Trojans kick some Eagle butt this Wednesday!! <br /><br />Come to the Trojanation!!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114410873326691353?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24223074.post-1143595863541145202006-03-28T17:08:00.000-08:002006-03-28T17:31:03.576-08:00One Eagle is Enough!!!The GW Eagles are a: fun & friendly, cross-town rivalry that Tunstall has had in sports for a long time. And there is only room for one Eagle on the Trojans schedule, because Franklin County certainly doesn't need to be on there!!! However, for the first and last time, Tunstall was forced into playing the FC eagles, because our athletic director feels it was a neccesary match. <br /><br />I'm sure you can already tell that the game did not go over smoothly for the Trojans as we suffered a fairly bad loss, the score was 0-(more than 5 and less than 15, fill in the blank with whatever you feel is appropriate). We found out very quickly that Franklin Co. has a fast and vicious attack. The "other" Eagles can move the ball very well, as they weave in and out of defenders with little trouble. Tunstall did not lay down or roll over to these Franklin Counties, the Trojans fought proudly and never during the game did they give up, but always played consistent and with heart. We all know that no gameball has been given since the first game, vs. Halifax. However, everyone felt it to be very appropriate to acknowledge the great goal keeping and defense shown by our Junior Goal Keeper-Hannah B;who had a great game, she saw lots of attempts at goal by the "other" Eagles, and was able to defend many of them. <br /><br />Trust your source, EagleHunter, when she says that the Trojans will have a successful District Season this year, once we begin to play our AA counterparts. Our district season begins next Friday(4/7) against DanRiver High School.<br />SOOOOO... Good Luck next week Trojans & keep playing that good ole' soccer!!!!!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114359586354114520?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24223074.post-1143401075207064662006-03-26T11:17:00.000-08:002006-03-26T11:27:10.356-08:00Before Game JittersUsually I write only a brief before game paragraph and a more lengthy after game summary; but right now I am compelled to write more about the way I'm feeling. <br /><br />This upcoming match versus Franklin County has gotten my nerves in a bind, because of our last game against Halifax- and the score that resulted. Perhaps I'm the only person feeling: unsure of myself and extremely nervous, but nonetheless I imagine every Tunstall teammember to be, not only hurting from our last loss, but also scared that our next game will end the same way.<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114340107520706466?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24223074.post-1143243186452671612006-03-24T15:25:00.000-08:002006-03-24T15:40:22.766-08:00New School, AAA StyleMonday...Monday...Monday..this Monday(3/27) at Franklin County High School, the Trojans will face a monster. A monster with big teeth, big eyes, big claws, and biggest and scariest of all---they have a soccer team. But nonetheless the Mighty Trojans will confront their enemy with courage and discipline, we will not be afraid or simply "back down" from our opponents. The Trojans will play good and aggressive soccer. By the way, the game begins at 7:00pm.<br /><br />GO TROJANS!!!!!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114324318645267161?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24223074.post-1143242598373764542006-03-24T15:06:00.000-08:002006-03-24T15:41:18.526-08:00No More Falling Rocks...comets!When life sends you lemons you make lemonade, during the summer, but sometimes, during the winter, all you can do is make weird faces.<br /><br />Last Wednesday(3/22) at approximately 5:30pm, the Lady Trojans of Tunstall faced the Halifax Comets, at a blustery match of soccer. The two teams had met before, one week earlier, and the outcome had been in the Comet's favor with a score of 0-5. This game, unfortunately yielded the same ending. The Trojans had first kickoff, as they managed to steadily work up an attack, but as the first 40 minutes progressed, Halifax soon began to score. By the end of the half Halifax led, 0-4.<br /><br />After a very "open" discussion during halftime, the Trojans were able to go on the field with a revitalized offense, one ready to play and fight. The Comets had other plans, as the end of the game showed a scoreboard of Halifax-8 & Tunstall-0. The game may have not gone the way Tunstall planned, but that has never caused the Trojans' spirit to be defeated. The ladies always find a way to enjoy their games, their teammates, their coach, and most of all.....to enjoy playing a game that enables them to gain the most from their youth and make long-lasting memories..!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114324259837376454?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24223074.post-1142985901801404102006-03-21T15:57:00.000-08:002006-03-21T16:05:01.803-08:00Halifax, Again Baby!!!!Wooooo, Tunstall @ Halifax tomorrow night!!! The trojans will be able to face the same team and, hopefully, enjoy a much better score. The last time the 2 teams faced was Wed. March 15, and the score was 0-5, but this upcoming match will have a completely differant outcome!! The Trojans will arise vistorious, but truly as long as the score stays within 1 point, the Trojans will be very happy!!<br /><br />Our keeper will keep better, our defense will defend better, our midfield will transition better, and our forwards will score better; even our bench will cheer better!! Because.....We Are The Trojans, The Mighty Mighty Trojans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!<div class="blogger-post-footer"><img width='1' height='1' src='https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/tracker/24223074-114298590180140410?l=tunstallsoccer.blogspot.com'/></div>EagleHunterhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/11098627158161069982noreply@blogger.com0
